Activity kinds:

Ultrasonic control

Ultrasonic control is performed according to requirements of GOST 14782-86 "NDT inspection. Welded connections. Ultrasonic methods."

This standard establishes methods of ultrasonic control of butt, angular, lap and T-shaped connections executed by arc, electroslag, gas, gas-pressure, electron beam and butt welding with melting in welded constructions of metals and alloys for revealing of cracks, lacks of penetration, pores, non-metallic and metal inclusions. The standard does not establish methods of ultrasonic control of welding. Necessity of ultrasonic control, volume of control and sizes of inadmissible defects are established in standards or specifications on production.

The given kind is applicable at control of technological pipelines (both steel, and polymers), fabricated metals, process equipment, and also during thickness gauging. Distinctive line of the given method is efficiency of tests, applicability to the majority of types of welded connections.

X-ray control

X-ray control is performed according to requirements of GOST 7512-82 "NDT inspection. Welded connections. Radio graphic method. "

The given kind is applicable at control of technological pipelines, fabricated metals, process equipment of steels, nonferrous metals and composite materials in various industries and building complex.

Radio graphic control is applied for revealing of cracks, lacks of penetration, pores, slag, tungsten, oxide and other inclusions in welded connections. Radio graphic control is applied also for revealing of arc burns, cuts, estimations of size of camber and concavity of bottom root, inaccessible to external survey.

At radio graphic control the following is not revealed:

  • any discontinuity flaws and inclusions with a size in the direction of radiography less than doubled sensitivity of control;
  • lacks of penetration and cracks aperture plane of which does not coincide with radiography direction and (or) size of aperture is less than: 0.1 mm for thickness up to 40 mm to 0.5 mm for thickness over 200 mm;
  • any discontinuity flaws and inclusions if their images in pictures coincide with images of extraneous details, sharp corners and sharp differences of thickness of appeared through metal.

Visual control

Visually-measuring control check quality of preparation and assemblage of workpieces for welding, weld quality in the course of welding and quality of ready welded connections. Usually external survey supervises all welded products irrespective of application of other kinds of control.

Visual control in many cases is enough informative and is the cheapest and operative quality monitoring.

Workpiece and assemblage control. Welded materials are subjects to visual control for revealing of dents, agnails, scales, rusts, etc.  

Capillary defectoscopy

Capillary control is carried out according to GOST 18442-80 “NDT inspection. Capillary methods. General requirements. ”

Capillary defectoscopy is based on capillary penetration of indicator liquids into cavities of surface and through discontinuity flaws of a material of control objects and registration of formed indicator traces by visual way or by means of a converter.

Capillary defectoscopy is intended for detection of surface and through defects in control objects, detection of their arrangement, extent (for extensive defects of crack type) and orientation on surface.

Capillary defectoscopy allows to supervise objects of any sizes and forms, made of black and nonferrous metals and alloys, plastic, glass, ceramics, and also other firm not ferromagnetic materials.

Necessary condition of revealing of defects of type of continuity infringement of material by capillary methods is presence of cavities, free from pollution and other substances having exit to a surface of objects and depth of distribution, considerably exceeding width of their aperture.

Capillary methods are subdivided into main using capillary phenomena, and combined, based on combination of two or more various methods of NDT inspection, one of which is capillary.
